Contemporary Art,
Considered in Context.

We are an independent advisory practice, where contemporary art is always considered in the context of the people, place and purpose it serves.

We believe art should be part of that conversation from the beginning.

Every project begins with understanding the space—how it is used, who moves through it and what it should communicate.

Too often, art is introduced only when the design is complete and the walls need filling. By involving Foinse earlier, art can become part of the thinking around the space, rather than simply something added to it.

We then research, assess, source and place artworks that belong there.

More about the practice

A Network of Trusted Relationships

Access and independence

We work directly with artists and in collaboration with the galleries that represent them across Ireland and Europe.

These relationships give us access to exceptional work and to the insight that informs our judgement — how an artist is developing, how a body of work holds together, how a piece will live in a particular space. Because we are not a gallery and hold no stock, there is no inventory for us to sell. Our recommendations are driven by the brief, not by what we happen to have available.

Our Process

From understanding the space to placing the artwork.

How we work

01

Discover

We start with the space and the business, not the art. We begin by understanding the purpose of the space, the people who use it, how it should feel, and what the artwork needs to achieve.

02

Assess

Every artwork is assessed in the context of the space: its visual energy, emotional tone, ability to hold attention, and the conversations it invites. We need to understand not only whether a work belongs there, but why.

03

Curate

We present a focused shortlist of artworks selected specifically for the brief. From there, we shape the final selection—looking at each work individually and how the collection works together within the space. Where possible, viewings take place in the artist’s studio, the gallery, or the space itself.

04

Place

We manage acquisition, placement and installation from start to finish, and continue to advise as your space, your business and your collection evolve.

An international perspective

Our international partnership with MARCOROSSI artecontemporanea brings more than thirty years of contemporary art expertise to Foinse, through an established Italian gallery network in Milan, Verona, Turin and Pietrasanta. Its programme spans painting, sculpture and photography by Italian and international artists.

MARCOROSSI artecontemporanea, Italy

The partnership gives our clients access to contemporary Italian artists whose work is rarely seen in Ireland. It also allows us to look beyond Ireland when the space, the organisation or the brief calls for it—bringing Irish and international artists together within the same collection.
